House Moved from Shawnee, Kansas to Desoto, Kansas.
Long distance house moves are difficult to plan. The house pictured below used to be located near The Plaza. We moved the house over 60 miles to Louisburg, Kansas. The house was moved in 3 sections. To obtain permits for house moving, Kansas utility companies have to be notified. Additional charges to move wires may apply. City and county permits need to be obtained and sorting thru the different rules and regulations is an art in itself. Thru all the years of house moving, Lawrence, KS remained consistent with their requirements. This is one reason why we enjoy working there. As we stay in the business of housemoving, Lawrence, Ks remains a favorite town to work in.
The blue house above was moved from 67th and Nieman, Shawnee, KS. to a rural property in Desoto, KS. While planning long distance house moving, Kansas department of transportation rules must be considered. This house below traveled down state highway 10 that leads to Lawrence, Kansas. It takes a special permit to travel on a state highway. The numerous permits necessary now to move a house makes it more difficult to recycle houses. This is why we have been doing more and more foundation repair. |
